of an 'Aktion' of the Vilna ghetto in Lithuania. Vilnius had once been called
the Jerusalem of Lithuania due to the rich culture and activity of its Jewish
population. Over the next six weeks 33,500 Jews will be taken to the forest
of nearby Panerai and shot.
