Versailles Treaty
This was a series of treaties in 1919 forced on Germany by the victors of the First World War, excluding the Soviet Union and the United States. This treaty was the most important of the five which concluded that war. It forced Germany to pay reparations - payment for damge caused by the First World War. It also limited the size of its army and took some territory away from Germany.
