K-O
Locarno Pact
Concluded in 1925 in Locarno, Switzerland, the pact consisted of several treaties between Germany and other combatants of the First World War. The most important, between Germany, France and Belgium, concerned demilitarisation of the Rhineland, maintenance of established borders, and resolution of disputes by arbitration rather than force. Hitler broke the agreement in 1936 when he sent troops into the Rhineland.
