Extermination camp
A law which provided a legal basis for Hitler's dictatorial rule. Called 'The Law to remove the Distress of People and State', it was enacted on 24 March 1933. It gave Hitler's cabinet power to pass laws without the consent of the other elected members of the Reichstag. These powers were supposed to last four years, but by the time April 1937 came, no one would question this act. Hitler was firmly in control.
