SS evacuate Auschwitz


SS evacuate Auschwitz as the Soviet Army was approaching. 66,000 prisoners are forced out on foot on so-called 'death marches'. 15,000 die on route toward Germany. Soviets liberate Warsaw. Approximately 80,000 Jews are liberated at Budapest. Raoul Wallenberg, the Swedish diplomat, was arrested by the Soviets.
