Antisemitism in the Third Reich

There is much debate about where Hitler learned his racial and antisemitic ideas. Wherever he obtained them from, they were certainly not his own ideas - he simply refined them and made them more accessible to wider audiences. There were two strands that led to the development of Nazi ideology. The first was based on German mythology. It looked back to pre-industrial, rural days. They spoke of the 'one-nation community'. The other main strand was that of scientific racism, and racial hygiene. This was a more scientific racism widespread throughout the Western world.
